ACHEM (the “Association,” “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to maintaining privacy protections for its users.  This policy outlines the various measures we take with your privacy (going forward our “Privacy Policy”) and is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide to us through www.achemed.org (the “Site”). As well as to assist you in making informed decisions about your information when using our Service.  

 

Any time we use, the term “Service” throughout our Privacy Policy this will refer to the services on our Site. This policy also extends to any event registries, purchases, subscriptions, electronic messages, mobile apps, web applications, or other materials you access on the Site or through the Site. Any time we use “You”, “you” or “your” throughout our Privacy Policy this refers to you, as a user of a Service. 

By accepting our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (found here: www.achemed.org/privacypolicy you consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. User Acknowledgement

As mentioned in our Terms of Service, our Services allow users to access entertaining education, advocacy resources & community building tools. Content on the Site will be comprised of material developed by us and our service providers, as well as posts from social media and other channels in which we are tagged or mentioned. When posting materials on your social media channels that utilize our name, hashtags or other identification mechanisms we may post these on our site, in our publications or through our social media channels. You understand this is the nature of our service. By continuing to use the Site, you agree we may use the information you tag, upload or supply for the purposes of providing Services, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. 

 

Information We Collect

We collect “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.”  Non-Personal Information includes information that cannot personally identify you, such as anonymous data about how you use a Service, general demographic information, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, preferences you submit, preferences that are generated based on the data you submit and number of clicks on a Service.  Personal Information includes information that personally identifies you. From registrants or purchasers of merchandise, we may collect the name, photos, videos, age range, city and state, gender, email address, address, phone number, or credit card information you submit to us.

 

Some of the ways we collect information are:

Your Rights Regarding The Use Of Your Personal Information

You have the right at any time to request we refrain from contacting you for marketing purposes.  When we send a promotional communication to a user, the user can opt out of further notification or promotional communications by submitting an email to support@achemed.org with the word ‘unsubscribe’ in the subject line. Opt-out notices may take a few days to process.  Also note, by unsubscribing from promotional communications, we may continue to send you administrative emails including, for example, periodic updates to our Privacy Policy.

As part of the Service, we may provide links to or compatibility with other websites or applications.  However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain.  This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us through the Site and our Services. Geographic Restrictions, Applicable Law

The Site should only be accessed within the USA and Canada. Any claim relating to the Site shall be governed by the internal laws of the State of Oregon, without reference to its choice of law provisions, and shall be resolved solely through proceedings held within the State of Oregon. 

 

Changes To Our Privacy Policy

The Association reserves the right to change this policy and our Terms of Service at any time.  We will notify you of significant changes to our Privacy Policy by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account or by placing a prominent notice on our Site.  Significant changes will go into effect within 30 days following such notification.  Non-material changes or clarifications will take effect immediately. You should periodically check the Site and this privacy page for updates.

 

Merger Or Sale

In the event we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another Association, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your Personal Information may be among the assets transferred.  You acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur and are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of our assets may continue to process your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.  

 

Use Of Our Site By Minors
